Rep. Michelle Fischbach in the West Central Tribune:  ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’ is a Win for Farmers, Seniors and Small Businesses

“On Independence Day, President Donald Trump celebrated our country with a historic win for the American people: he signed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act into law.

I was honored to play such a pivotal role in the development of this legislation as a member of the Ways and Means Committee, which oversees tax policy, trade, Medicare, and more. The committee traveled the country, including holding an official hearing in Kimball, Minnesota. We heard the American people loud and clear and developed a recommendation to deliver for families, farmers, and small businesses like those in Minnesota’s Seventh District.” Read the full op-ed by clicking here.

Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks: It’s Time to Stop the CCP’s Land Grab for Food

“America’s farmland belongs to the American people, not to the Chinese Communist Party. For too long, the CCP has exploited our openness and ignored our laws to infiltrate our economy, compromise our security, and steal our innovation. The FBI estimates we lose between $250 and $600 billion each year to Chinese intellectual property theft. Now, they’re not just stealing ideas, they’re buying the land beneath our feet.” Read the full op-ed by clicking here.

Rep. Zach Nunn in the Des Moines Register: Tax Cuts that Work for Iowa Families are the Center of the Law We Passed

“Last year, I met with Iowa mom Sarah Curry during a field hearing in Des Moines. Her story stuck with me, not because it's unique, but because it represents the experiences of thousands of families across Iowa and millions throughout the nation.

Sarah and her husband are raising three boys in rural southwest Iowa. Their middle son, Isaac, has autism. Like so many parents, Sarah works hard to make sure her kids have every opportunity to thrive. Thanks to tax relief passed under the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA), Sarah was able to use her federal tax refund for occupational speech therapy for Isaac and to replace a water heater that finally gave out.” Read the full op-ed by clicking here.

Rep. Mike Simpson in the Idaho Statesman: Idaho Celebrates a Decade with the Boulder-White Clouds Protected

“This August marks ten years since one of the most meaningful land management bills in Idaho’s history — the Sawtooth National Recreation Area and Jerry Peak Wilderness Additions Act was signed into law. A decade later, we celebrate the protection of the Cecil D. Andrus Boulder-White Clouds Wilderness area and Idahoans’ shared love for the land.

The Boulder-White Clouds, with their beautiful high peaks, spectacular alpine lakes, and breathtaking country ready for recreation, represent some of the very best of our great state. For decades, however, they were at the center of crafting a compromise over how best to preserve this area.” Read the full op-ed by clicking here.
