Main Street Caucus Leadership Celebrates President Trump's Address to Congress

March 5, 2025

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the Republican Main Street Caucus (RMSC) leadership released statements following President Donald J. Trump’s address to a joint session of Congress.

“I thought it was incredible how President Trump wove together all these stories about how securing the border actually impacted real people’s lives. I thought it was a powerful speech. You clearly saw the partisanship on display. There were times he was talking about things that seemed all-American and yet we still only had one side of the room standing up and applauding. I thought the President did a really good job,” said Rep. Dusty Johnson (R-SD-AL), RSMC Chair.

Additionally, Rep. Johnson released a short video after President Trump’s address, which can be found here.

“President Trump’s speech to Congress was a celebration of America and the renewal our country is experiencing. Under his leadership, illegal border crossings have cratered, America is unleashing our domestic energy potential, and we’re rooting out wasteful government spending. It was a sweeping address that covered a wide array of issues. Most importantly, the president underscored the importance of delivering tax relief for all Americans as Congressional Republicans work to renew the Trump tax cuts. He also highlighted his unwavering support for law enforcement and his work as a president that backs the blue and keeps America safe. President Trump is only a little over 40 days into his second term and as he said — he’s just getting started,” said Rep. Mike Flood (R-NE-01), RSMC Vice Chair.

Rep. Flood hosted a virtual media availability following the President’s joint address. Footage from the availability will be available here shortly.
